A daily update is a quick, efficient meeting for teammates to discuss important work. This asynchronous meeting saves time and resources over a traditional synchronous call or video conference. The daily update can also be broadcast on a team channel, which helps manage attendance and make it easy for teammates to participate from anywhere.
To use daily updates, create an intent for your Action that you configure as a daily update. Then, create or edit a scene that uses this intent to trigger the daily update subscription flow. In the Actions console, click Develop in the top menu and then select Intents. Click add_circle_outline in the list of intents to create a new one. Name the intent daily update and select the type of content it should provide.
When the user invokes the intent that you configured as a daily update, they receive a push notification and can tap to subscribe. The subscription prompt can appear mid-conversation or as a suggestion chip when the conversation ends.
When offering a daily update subscription prompt, try to show your users the value of your Action before giving them the option to subscribe. It’s also best to avoid repeating the daily update subscription prompt too frequently or in too many contexts, as this can overwhelm your user and lead them to unsubscribe.
